Welcome to a brand new year, everyone! We hope that you all enjoyed the holiday break and that despite the unbelievably cold temperatures we had; you still managed to find time (and enough warm winter clothes!) to get outside and spend some time doing your favorite activities like skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, or ice fishing.
January is not only a great time to settle in with a blanket and a good book but it also signals the beginning of Ski Club! Please join Ms. Laborde, Mr. Welwood, Mrs. Andrusiak, and myself as we grab our skis and venture out into the frosty, winter wonderland! Be sure to dress appropriately for the chilly temperatures and we will lend you the skis, boots, and poles. Fitting/sizing happens after 4:00 on Wednesday, January 10th in the gym. What a great deal! Listen to announcements for further information or see Ms. LaBorde for more details.
The library has a new contest starting this month, as well. Stop by the circulation desk and pick up a form to design your own bookmark. Let your imagination carry you away and be as creative as you can be! Favorite quotes, lines from your favorite book, pictures of your favorite people, places, or things all work too – let your imagination take the lead! Once you are finished, add your name and grade to the bottom and bring it into the library. We are going to pin every bookmark we receive onto the bulletin board for display and then at the end of January, select 3 lucky winners from K-3, 4-6, and 7/8. We’ll copy the winning bookmarks and set them out in the library for you to take and use in February. Great idea, right?! If you have any questions, just swing on by the library and Mrs. Hanna or myself will be more than happy to help you out!
Stay warm, get involved in all the amazing activities we’ve got going on this month at school, and most of all…keep reading!!
See you in the library!
