Welcome back to school everyone! We hope you all enjoyed a super Spring Break and are ready for the last bit of the school year. We are in the home stretch now!
Chilly temperatures, more snow, and wintery winds are still making for great curl up and read time and we have new books arriving weekly to help tide you chase away those wintery days and nights. Every Hidden Thing by Kenneth Oppel, When the Moon Comes by Paul Harbridge, and This is How We Do It by Matt LaMothe are waiting patiently on the shelf for you and more great books are soon to arrive. Watch for Geekerella: A Fangirl Fairy Tale by Ashley Poston, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, and Princesses Wear Pants by Savannah Guthrie and Allison Oppenheim.
If you are still searching for that next great read, don’t forget that you can always sign into your OverDrive account on your devices from anywhere and check out the huge selection of top titles that are waiting for you there. With every genre represented from comedy and thrillers, to mysteries, dystopia, and loads of non-fiction you are bound to find something that intrigues you. You know the drill…”check” it out!!
The April library contest is off to a great start and many of you have already been through, entered the contest AND found toques or hats that belong to you! Be sure to check in daily and you just might find that favorite hat that you thought you had lost somewhere. New hats go up daily but the number of hats for the contest remains the same. The contest ends Tuesday, April 17th and then we’ll begin preparing for our huge, annual May contest. It will have you flocking to the library to check it out. Can’t remember what that is? The suspense is sure to drive you quackers!
We are sending along our best wishes to everyone going on the grade 8 -12 band trip to Banff. Best of luck with your performance and we hope that you all have an amazing time!
We are also wishing everyone competing in the Science Fair the best of luck and success. Your projects are all winners and your Ruth Betts friends, family, and community are very proud of your hard work and innovative projects. Have a great time in Thompson!
Keep your warm coats and hats handy for a little while longer yet and try to squeeze in a few more great reads before the lure of long sunny days spent outdoors begin to compete for your attention!
Stop into the library anytime, say hello, and check out your next favorite book!
